Sam Summers Book Recommendations

We couldn’t chat with Sam Summers without asking for a few of her top book recommendations, and she didn’t disappoint! From quirky adventures to spine-tingling mysteries, these are the stories that have inspired her and captured her imagination.

Looking for your next great read? Here are Sam’s picks:

1. The 113th Assistant Librarian

I’m reading this now and loving it. It’s a brilliantly imaginative and quirky adventure that shows just how magical stories can be.

2. Lockwood & Co: The Screaming Staircase by Jonathan Stroud

A really gripping, spooky mystery with a fantastic team dynamic. I originally picked it up to see if it was suitable for my son… and ended up reading the entire series! Probably best for ages 11+ though.

3. The Dark Portal by Robin Jarvis

This is one of the books that made me fall in love with fantasy as a child. It’s darker and full of high stakes… maybe one to read together with your middle grader.

What Will You Read Next?

Whether you’re diving into something spooky, magical, or a little bit mysterious, these recommendations are a great place to start.

And don’t forget, while you’re exploring Sam’s favourites, you can also join us in reading The Lost Defenders as part of Lit Club 4 Kids. We can’t wait to hear what you think!
